Creating future heritage, where the land meets the sea
Folkestone seafront is undergoing a transformation. There has been huge investment in many community projects around the town, and an on-going mission to regenerate the harbour, harbour arm, beach and old railway station to create a vibrant new seafront for the town, bringing much needed investment.
Future plans for the seafront include 1000+ new architect designed homes from the likes of Terry Farrell, Foster & Partners and ACME, public realm including communal beach gardens, restored funicular railway, better beach access, sporting and wellness opportunities plus food and beverage spaces to encourage visitor numbers and job generation.
Four are commissioned to brand the residential development alongside the redevelopment of the public realm, including destination marketing and placemaking, in order to maximise the success of the regeneration of the entire seafront in an ongoing relationship intended to last for a decade or more.
